Bakeries, also called cake shops or cakery is the special establishment which produces and/or sells cakes, usually cupcakes, muffins, sponges, as well as other baked goods that fall under the title of cake. In the past Chinese people prefer eat stuffed steamed bun or porridge in the morning as their breakfast. However, as the society develops and western culture rushes to China, many Chinese people eat western food as their breakfast. People buy cakes and bread in the supermarkets and stores, and other people buy them in the bakeries.
Chinese domestic bakeries chain brands: Holiland(好利来) and Ganso(元祖)
Holiland(好利来) was a domestic bakery brand in China which was founded in 1992 by a famous photographer Luo Hong(罗红). The company is the 1st Chinese bakery franchise. Nowadays, Holiland produce and sell not only cakes and breads, but also zongzi, mooncakes, rice dumplings and coffee drinks. It has nearly 200 branches in over 50 cities in China. Ganso(元祖) is a Taiwan bakery which came to Shanghai(上海) in 1993. It expresses to customers the feeling of quality and meticulous lifestyle. So far they have more than 260 branches in 53 cities. Paris Baguette is a Korean food company. It was established in 1986 and produces French classic bread and confectionery products. It is a subsidiary of SPC Group. Now Paris Baguette has several chains in the USA, California, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The name of the brand is the place “Paris” and French bread “Baguette”, so they position themselves as authentic baguette for Korean people.
Tous Les Jours(多乐之日) is a high quality, South-Korean franchise of bakeries that not only sells breads and cakes, but also offers coffee, beverages, sandwiches, smoothies and ice cream.
Among these chain brands, Amandine is the only authentic French bakeries in Beijing.
