Tencent’s Mall Smart retail system was released in 2017. It is equipped with Tencent’s AI technologies called Youtu, and Tencent’s Cloud Data. The system includes VIP-to-store reminders, store compasses, line analysis, customer group management, facial recognition payment, etc., covering the various sections of the store. Youtu’s facial recognition technology is applied to customer identification; shelves display adjustment, shopping guide, and patrol shop functions.
